Mr. President, with the greatest respect to your office, and age, I can confirm that you did not monitor the 2015 elections in Rivers or Bayelsa State and could not have seen any of the things you allege against our people.
Mr. President, you also have never been to Rivers State since you became President and could not have physically seen what you allege during any of the rerun elections that held based on the undemocratic bid of your PARTY, the APC to capture power in Rivers State.
Following from the above, one can only conclude that your position is based on partisan and sectional leanings as largely affect your interactions in government, which to my mind are aimed at blackmailing the people of Rivers State in particular and southern Nigerians in general, who are largely of the opposition PDP, as we’ve seen several times during your term in office.
One is even minded to believe that your reluctance in addressing the excesses of SARS, an arm of the Police that has not only become murderously incompetent but carries on as the hit squad of the APC is because you either benefit from it personally or because your Party clearly does.
The same Kano you spoke from, perhaps you need to be reminded, had its electoral Commissioner and his family slain in controversial circumstances just after your result was announced, which happened while the current Inspector General of Police was the then Kano State Commissioner of Police. To this day, Mr. President, neither you nor your Inspector General has told Nigerians what happened. Yet, from that very State you blackmail the good people of Rivers State.
Mr. President, Rivers people refuse to be blackmailed. Southern Nigerians refuse to be blackmailed.
Finally, our dearly beloved President, you of all people should know that you would not have won if Rivers money didn’t flow freely like sweet wine both during the APC Presidential Convention in Lagos from where you emerged and across Nigeria during the General Elections. Sufficient evidence exists in the public domain to support this. Is this not the same reason Rotimi Amaechi continues to brag about his being untouchable inspite of his monumental infractions on the laws of our land?
Mr. President, please leave Rivers people and Southern Nigerians alone. It’s one blackmail too many.
